What started as a simple shed removal call turned into a full backyard overhaul. The yard was packed with overgrowth, weeds, and years of neglect. The shed was gone, but the mess it left behind - plus the dense vegetation crowding the space - meant the homeowner basically had no usable yard to speak of.
We brought in our skid steer and got to work clearing everything out. That meant pulling up the overgrowth, hauling debris, and opening up the space so sunlight could actually reach the ground. It's one of those jobs where you don't fully realize how much was back there until it's all gone and you're standing in a wide-open yard.
Once the clearing was done, we graded the area to fix the drainage. That part matters more than most people think. If water doesn't have a clean path to run off, you end up with soggy low spots and bare patches that never grow in right. Getting the grade right first is what sets the rest of the work up for success.
After grading, we put down seed and covered it with straw to protect it while it established. That straw layer keeps moisture in and prevents the seed from washing away - especially important if any rain comes through after seeding. A few months later, the yard came in thick and green across the full cleared area.
This is the kind of work we do when a yard needs more than just a cleanup crew with rakes. It takes the right equipment, the right process, and knowing what order to tackle things in. Demolition and excavation aren't just for big commercial sites - sometimes your backyard just needs a real fresh start.
